Sen. Bill Wielechowski, an Anchorage Democrat who supported Phoenix’s nomination, noted during debate that Phoenix is transgender. Wielechowski asked whether the state is willing to appoint people to boards and commissions who understand discrimination first-hand and will work to end it or if people want to live in a state intolerant of those different from the majority or who have different views. FacebookTwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享The Alaska Legislature has rejected the appointment of Drew Phoenix, a transgender man, to serve on the state’s human rights commission. Leading up to Tuesday’s vote, some conservative groups sought to paint Phoenix, who has advocated for LGBT rights, as too political for the post. Phoenix was the only nominee put forth by Gov. Bill Walker who was rejected by state lawmakers Tuesday.
All Activity I think that retro probably sells a little better in hats. As far as their unis, I don’t mind the monochrome for a game or two, but the split colors in both sets look best. The Bills don’t have a bad set, it just needs some updating with the shoulders and the piping. The Bills have a good throwback set, but the helmet is way dated. They need to use the current helmet or the white helmet with the current logo/blue mask with that set. Location:City of Champions and the Pirates 8 All Activity Buffalo or Buffa-NO? Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 0 Share on other sites I’m wondering about the Billls and their decision to go with throwbacks full-time. Has there been any kind of word about what exactly they plan to do in the future? I’ve seen them wearing the normal jerseys, but at LIDS the new burner hat is the throwback logo and colors (Chargers is the same way). What’s the deal? Anyone have a scoop? Thanks. New GM Marv Levy and New Head Coach Dick Jauron have made it known that they are not fans of the blue on blue.Amen to that I have not been too thrilled with any of the teams that have gone all one color looks 0 Share this post BBM Share on other sites 0 Location:Long Island, NY Posted September 22, 2006 1,489 posts gmlouisville hormone Forums Home 8 631 posts Forums Home

Or the Cavs, who incorporated the 70’s-style piping. I hate when teams just swap a couple of colors on the road jersey (and use one of the same wordmarks from the primaries) to create an alternate. Yeah, I’m looking at you, Hawks, Bobcats, Pistons, Warriors, Rockets, Lakers, Heat, Timberwolves, Nets, Hornets, Sixers, Blazers and Sonics. I’d rather see it say “Charlotte” since it’s a road uni. They took away some of the cool things that make the current Bobcats unis unique (like the side panneling), which I’d understand if they were going for a “traditional” look (like some NHL teams have done with alts.) Not classy enough to be “traditional,” not unique enough to be “modern,” it’s just sorta . . . bleh. AD Quality Auto 360p 720p 1080p Top articles1/5READ MOREGame Center: Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs, Sunday, 10 a.m.“We are definitely going to miss the beauty of Castaic Lake,” Shokouh said. “We are going to also miss the tremendous support the Castaic community gave us for 14 years.” In Pomona, the Love Ride will be able to accommodate more than double the number of vendors it had in Castaic, growing from 80 to 200. “We can grow to be 10 times the size we were at Castaic, not that we want to get that big,” Shokouh said. “If we did get that big, the Pomona Fairplex will be able to accommodate that growth.” The event is slated to be held at the Fairplex for the next five years, he said. Musician Gregg Allman will headline this year’s entertainment. In Castaic, event attendees experienced some parking problems and traffic tie-ups with 12,000 to 14,000 motorcycle riders arriving at the lake at the same time. “The lake was just not designed for parking that many vehicles at once,” Shokouh said. The Fairplex, home of the L.A. County Fair, has parking for 50,000 cars, he said. The move has left some in Castaic heartbroken. “Most of the businesses and residents that I have talked to are disappointed it’s leaving,” said Ray Graeber, treasurer of the Castaic Chamber of Commerce and Friends of Castaic Lake. “It’s a chance to showcase our town and especially our lake facility.” At the 7-Eleven on Castaic Road and Lake Hughes Road, manager Inder Singh said the store was packed in past years for three or four hours during the day of the Love Ride. Forget finding a parking spot at the store on that day. “If it is not happening this year, it is going to hurt,” Singh said. firstname.lastname@example.org (661) 257-5254160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong. The Love Ride, the annual motorcycle event that has poured thousands of “hogs” and their riders into Castaic Lake for the past 14 years, is moving this year to the Fairplex in Pomona. Event organizers decided to join forces with the inaugural California Bike Week sponsored by 75 Harley-Davidson dealerships, said Love Ride founder Oliver Shokouh. Bike week events will start Nov. 9, with the Love Ride capping the festivities Nov. 11. The Castaic Lake Recreation Area just wouldn’t have worked for all the planned activities.
